Celebrate Frankie’s Birthday at McClelland!

Frankston’s reflective gentle giant, Frankie, is celebrating his birthday on Sunday, October 13 and you’re invited!
Officially titled Reflective Lullaby by artist Gregor Kregar, Frankie is more than just a sculpture. Made from mirror-polished stainless steel, he reflects the people, sky, and nature around him — turning every visit into something new. No wonder he’s become such a beloved part of our community. And to mark his special day, McClelland Sculpture Park + Gallery is throwing Frankie a birthday bash filled with family fun, creativity, and of course, cake.
The Great Frankie Cake Bake-Off
What’s a birthday without cake? To celebrate Frankie properly, McClelland is hosting a Cake Bake-Off — and everyone’s welcome to join in. Here’s exactly how it works:
How to Enter
1. Register in advance – sign up on McClelland’s website, Frankie’s Birthday Celebration | McClelland Gallery
- Adults: $25 entry fee
- Kids: $15 entry fee
- Entries close: Thursday, October 2
2. Bake your cake at home. Get creative, big or small, simple or extravagant.
3. Cake drop-off. Bring your finished cake to the Pavilion at McClelland between 9:30–10:30 am on Sunday, October 12.
4. Judging & presentation. The judges will taste and decide between 2:30–3:30 pm at Frankie’s birthday party.

All ages and baking levels are encouraged. It’s not just about winning — it’s about celebrating community, creativity, and sharing a slice of joy together.

Free Activities for the Whole Family
Frankie’s birthday is about more than cake, it’s a full day of fun at McClelland, including:
- Funky Farm Animals → Get up close with native wildlife, reptiles and mammals.
- Creative Workshops → Hands-on art and craft activities for kids (and kids-at-heart).
- Cookie Decorating → Make your own sweet treat with the McClelland baker.
- Guided Sculpture Tours → Explore the stories behind McClelland’s incredible artworks.
