Two Frankston school girls turning cans, creativity & courage into something sweet

Some ideas begin with savings, sponsors or support, but Marni and Miyah’s began with cans.

At just 11 and 12, these sisters, Frankston school girls who live in the City of Casey and decided they wanted to build something of their own. A real business with a stall and abrand they could grow with their own hands. But ideas need capital, so the girls did what they could.
Instead of collecting in parks, their can collection began with their own household recycling, soon joined by donations from family and friends. Every bottle and can added up, and over time those contributions became the capital for their very first pop-up. The day Lemon Kisses opened was the result of twelve months of saving, patience and determination.

What started as classic lemonade soon grew into something brighter. The sisters added their own creative twist, serving colourful dirty sodas and fun flavour combinations that reflect their personalities. Each drink is an experiment in creativity and confidence, and every market they attend builds those skills even more.
The community response has been bigger than the girls ever expected. Locals loved the idea so much that Marni and Miyah now host a monthly drop-off for anyone wanting to donate their containers and be part of the journey. They happily collect donations on the first Saturday of each month, turning every can into another step toward their dream.

Lemon Kisses now appears at festivals and events across Frankston, proving that small beginnings can spark something unforgettable. Their story is inspiring younger kids, reminding families what determination can look like, and showing how much can grow from a simple idea and a whole lot of heart.
