Profile
Animalia Wildlife Shelter is a volunteer-operated, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to rescuing, treating and rehabilitating injured, sick and orphaned native Australian wildlife.
Based in Frankston, Animalia provides assistance across Victoria through its 24-hour wildlife rescue hotline and network of carers and rescuers. The shelter cares for a wide variety of native animals, including kangaroos, koalas, possums, wombats, wallabies, bats, penguins, seabirds and other native birds and mammals.
Animals receive specialised care and rehabilitation, with the aim of returning them safely to their natural habitat whenever possible. Animalia also provides first-aid advice, supports and mentors wildlife carers, and delivers educational workshops for schools, community groups and people interested in wildlife rescue and rehabilitation.
The organisation is operated by volunteers and relies on donations and community support to continue its work protecting native animals.
