Friends of Frankston Indigenous Nursery

Friends of Frankston Indigenous Nursery brings volunteers together to propagate, grow and care for indigenous plants collected from across the Frankston municipality. By growing plants that naturally belong in the local environment, the nursery helps preserve Frankston’s unique native vegetation and supports healthy habitats for local wildlife.

The plants are supplied for revegetation and conservation projects throughout local reserves, parks and other public spaces. They are also made available to community groups and residents wanting to introduce locally indigenous plants into their gardens.

Volunteers assist nursery staff with a range of practical activities, including preparing seeds, potting seedlings, propagating plants and caring for growing stock. Volunteer working bees are held every Wednesday from 9 am to 1 pm, providing a welcoming opportunity to learn more about indigenous plants while making a practical contribution to Frankston’s natural environment.

Friends of Frankston Indigenous Nursery is a member of the Frankston Environmental Friends Network, connecting local volunteer organisations working to protect and care for Frankston’s natural environment.
