Friends of Long Street Reserve

Friends of Long Street Reserve is a volunteer community group dedicated to protecting, restoring and caring for this valued natural reserve in Langwarrin.

Volunteers undertake practical conservation activities that help improve the condition of the reserve’s indigenous vegetation and provide healthier habitat for local wildlife. This work may include environmental weed removal, revegetation, planting, general reserve maintenance and supporting the natural regeneration of native plant species.

The group gives local residents an opportunity to contribute directly to the care of an important pocket of bushland within the surrounding suburban area. Working bees are also a welcoming way to spend time outdoors, learn more about the local environment and meet others who share an interest in conservation.

Working bees are held quarterly on the third Sunday of January, April, July and October from 9.30 am to 11.30 am. New volunteers are welcome, and no previous environmental experience is required.

Friends of Long Street Reserve is a member of the Frankston Environmental Friends Network, connecting local volunteer organisations working to protect and care for Frankston’s natural environment.
