Peninsula Field Naturalists Club

Peninsula Field Naturalists Club brings together people who share an interest in the natural world, including birds, native plants, animals, insects, fungi, reptiles and geology.

Established in 1952, the club has developed an extensive knowledge of the natural history of Frankston, the Mornington Peninsula and surrounding areas. Members learn from one another, hear presentations from guest speakers and take part in field excursions designed to observe and better understand the region’s plants, wildlife and landscapes.

The club meets on the second Wednesday of each month from February to December at 7.30 pm at the Uniting Church meeting room, 16 High Street, Frankston. A field excursion is generally held on the following weekend, while a separate birdwatching group visits locations around the Peninsula, Port Phillip and Western Port.

Visitors and new members are welcome, regardless of their existing level of knowledge or experience.

Peninsula Field Naturalists Club is a member of the Frankston Environmental Friends Network, connecting local volunteer organisations working to protect and care for Frankston’s natural environment.
