Rewilding Seaford

Rewilding Seaford is a volunteer community group creating connected habitat corridors and wildlife stepping stones throughout Seaford’s urban environment.

The group works to transform underused public spaces into healthy pockets of indigenous vegetation where native birds, insects and other wildlife can find food, shelter and places to move safely through the suburb. Volunteers undertake indigenous planting, site preparation, weed removal, mulching and ongoing care to help new habitat areas become established.

By linking small areas of vegetation across Seaford, the group aims to strengthen local biodiversity and create a more wildlife-friendly neighbourhood. Its projects also give residents an opportunity to contribute directly to their local environment, learn about indigenous plants and connect with other members of the community.

Working bees are generally held on the fourth Sunday of each month from February to November. New volunteers are welcome, and no previous conservation experience is required.

Rewilding Seaford is a member of the Frankston Environmental Friends Network, connecting local volunteer organisations working to protect and care for Frankston’s natural environment.
