Watsons Creek Catchment Landcare Group

Watson Creek Catchment Landcare Group brings together local landholders and community members working to improve the health and water quality of Watson Creek. The creek begins in Frankston South and flows through Baxter and Somerville before entering Western Port Bay at Yaringa Marine National Park.

The group encourages sustainable land management through weed control, indigenous planting, appropriate fencing and responsible pesticide and fertiliser use. Its activities include revegetation projects, restoring habitat corridors, monitoring water quality and helping care for local reserves. This work supports native plants and animals while protecting the internationally significant wetlands, mangroves, saltmarshes, seagrass and migratory bird habitat of Western Port Bay.

Members can learn more about their local environment, access advice and funding opportunities, and meet others interested in achieving better environmental outcomes. Visitors and new members are welcome.

Watson Creek Catchment Landcare Group is a member of the Frankston Environmental Friends Network, connecting local volunteer organisations working to protect and care for Frankston’s natural environment.
