I first came to Frankston when I was seven years old, back when there were a lot of cow paddocks and dirt roads. Over the years I’ve watched this place transform, but one thing has never changed: the heart of the community. That’s what makes Frankston so special, and it’s why I’m proud to be part of its story.
Of course, Frankston has faced its challenges. At times it’s felt run down, and it’s easy to focus on what’s missing. But I believe we’re moving in the right direction. With connection, collaboration, and a little foresight, Frankston can shine brighter than ever.
When I started Link Locally, my goal was to connect locals with the incredible businesses in our area. But the more people I spoke to, the clearer it became that Frankston is about more than just a directory. Behind every business, every landmark, and every person are real, heartfelt stories.
That’s why I created Gotta Love Frankston. This blog is a space to:
- Celebrate local businesses and the journeys behind them.
- Highlight community projects and events.
- Share the unique, quirky, and loveable things that make Frankston shine.
You’ll also see a familiar face around here, Frankie the Gnome. He’s been part of Frankston’s story for years and now stands tall at McClelland Sculpture Park. We’ve made Frankie the mascot of our logo as a way of keeping his spirit alive, reminding us to celebrate everything that makes Frankston special.
But this isn’t just about me sharing stories, it’s about us, as a community. If you’re a local business owner or a Frankston local with something to share, I’d love to feature your story.
Because at the end of the day, there really is just so much to love about Frankston.
